Salzburger Dom
This 17th-Century Baroque cathedral in the city of Salzburg, dedicated to St. Rupert of Salzburg, is most famous as the site of Mozart's baptism. The first building was constructed under St. Vergilius of Salzburg in 774. The present cathedral, designed by Santino Solari, was finished by 1628. It was built partially upon the foundations of the old basilica. Inside, there are relics of St. Rupert.
Monchsberg
This Benedictine monastery founded around 714 by St. Rupert of Salzburg is the oldest women's religious house in the German-speaking world. The first abbess was Saint Erentrudis of Salzburg, either a niece or a sister of St. Rupert. The abbey has acquired international fame thanks to Maria Augusta Kutschera, who was a teacher in the abbey’s school after World War I and whose life was the basis for the film The Sound of Music.
Salzburg Old Town

Don't forget to pass through Getreidegasse. On this busy shopping street, there’s a house at no. 9 where the famed Wolfgang Mozart was born and lived until his 17th birthday.
Mirabell Palace
Archbishop Wolf-Dietrich von Raitenau had this palace built for his beloved wife Salome Alt. It used to host many official and artistic ceremonies attended by famous people of the past. There were concerts by Mozart held here, and the Marble Stairs and Marble Hall are thought to be one of the most beautiful wedding halls in the world. That's why it mainly hosts wedding ceremonies nowadays. Many just-married couples choose its splendid Baroque garden for taking photographs.
