N/A Promenade des Anglais
The so-called Walk of the English is a celebrated promenade along the Mediterranean Sea. Before Nice was urbanized, the coast was bordered by a deserted strip of beach. The first houses were located on higher ground, away from the sea. Since the 18th Century, the English have taken to spending their winters here, enjoying the panoramic view along the coastline. Some of them proposed the construction of a walkway by the sea to avert the cold. The Promenade was first called the Camin dei Anglès (the English Way) by the Niçois in their native dialect, Nissart. It soon became a favourite place for tourists and locals alike, ideal for walking, cycling and skateboarding. Many interesting events take place on the Promenade, such as the annual Carnival or the Battle of Flowers. It’s also famous for its blue chairs, perfect for spending some lazy time contemplating of the crystal-blue waters of the Bay of Angels (la Baie des Anges).
N/A Place Massena
Place Massena is undoubtedly the most famous and impressive square in Nice . Surrounded by the Albert I and Massena gardens, it is bordered by the imposing red-coloured buildings. During the Carnival Place Massena is the main spot wheretakes pride the King's float . Moreover, it houses the splendid Palais Massena built in the 19th century, famous for its impressionist paintings from the Nice school.  It is also one of the city's key central points, from which you can easily reach the main shopping thoroughfares.
N/A Albert I Garden
Standing proudly in the very heart of the city, Albert I gardens are situated just opposite the sea. The park is mostly famous for so called Monument du Centenaire, commemorating the annexation of Nice to France. This memorial was unveiled in 1896 after the inhabitants of Nice decided to join France. Located at the top of the garden the sculpture completes the peace and harmony of this beautiful park.

The Cathedrale Orthodoxe Russe Saint-Nicolas is the oldest Russian cathedral in Western Europe. Considered as one of a French national monument it was built in 1859.
